Christmas Parade and Snow Princess Morgan

Well here we are waiting for the Christmas parade to come around the town of Floyd, Va. Not sure if you remember but I have a friend who is a professional photographer and she was there and got this shot of Robin, Lillie and I. Danny said this was by far my picture that I have ever had taken! A bit wind blown but it's still pretty good! I told her to make me look like Sandra Bullock but she's not quite that good!
We were waiting for the Princess!
Chelsa also took this picture from her side of the street!

Trying to get her earrings in.

That must have hurt!

The dress I made :-)))))

We were so proud of her!

She is a junior in high school and was the Snow Princess but she was in the back car.

Everyone thought she was the Queen!

She was the only one in white and in the rear car. She said she heard all the way around town "and here's the Queen!"

Click to enlarge any of these pictures so you can see her expression!

I didn't upload the picture of the girls in the front car, sorry!

The Fairy's Rest is hopping!

Morgan
Danny

Emma

Colton and Emma

Morgan...(I plan to do this one in charcoal)

Just when I get ready to go to work The Fairy's Rest gets to rolling too!! That's a good thing though! We were able to go down ourselves for a 24 hr jaunt on Sunday evening. We had a great time too! We had a nice weinie roast using the tractor wheel as a fire ring....nice touch Danny! Our neighbor, Jesse, came over and we had a really nice cool evening under the stars. The weather has cooled down and could not have been any prettier this weekend!!
We have such beautiful Autumns here in SW Virginia and I am ready for the leaves to change colors. I can't really believe that I am feeling that way so soon. I think it was the super hot summer that we have had!!
We had such a peaceful laid back time on Sunday evening with Jesse, slept very well in the cool crispness of the night....as guests....that was way cool!! Til the smoke alarm went off at 4:30 AM for NO reason and scared the beegeesies out of me. lololol Not too funny when you remember that the last thing you did outside was have a FIRE, even though it was watered down with the water hose! We had no work there to do, no painting to be done, no cleaning, we did mow but oh well we won't dwell on that one, no decorating, no gravels to haul, no decks to build, etc etc.......we were REAL guests!!
I tried to go in with the mind set that it belonged to someone else....you know as if we were paying guests so I could hunt for things that could be wrong and let the owners know about them. I searched and searched for problems and the only things I could find were there is a picture that needs to be moved about 1" in the living room and there is not enough time in my life set aside to stay there more often!!!!!!
We both really needed this R&R and the time to fall back in love with the place.
It worked. We both were so happy!!
Of course this trip was topped off with a great picnic lunch on the outdoor picnic table with Leslie and her family and Morgan.
No pictures....way too laid back to think about getting the camera out.......
We then hooked to the boat and went to the lake for one last excursion before the cool temps.
The water was barely warm enough to swim but we did.
Sad that summer went by so fast, but looking forward to a great autumn!
~~~
We have some great weekend guests coming to The Fairy's Rest this weekend too.
She is a friend of mine.....Chelsa is a friend of everyones actually....one of those young, beautiful, super contagious people who everyone wants to be around!!
She is also a professional photographer!! woot woot!!
Look out folks, there will be lots of really cool photos of the place coming soon!!
She joined The Fairy's Rest on Facebook, before she even knew it was my place, and asked if she could rent the place for a weekend as a birthday surprise for her Mother!!
She said her parents have always loved Fairystone Park!
She had the sweetest comments on the place too!
I feel so honored to have her and her family as my guests!!
Chelsa has a blog and you can see some of her work here.
She is a very very busy lady and with all the weddings and senior portraits she doesn't have time to update her blog very often. You can always join her page on Facebook and see her work too. Chelsa Yoder Photography on Facebook.
(I hope that link works for you.)
She is just as excited to have the time to get away with her family as I am that she is coming!
I can not wait to see how she captures the place on film!!!
I sure hope they all enjoy their stay as much as we did!
That's a great birthday present for her Mother, don't you think?
She's a good kid!!
Hello World!
Our names are Ruby and Diamond
Ruby and Diamonds are Robin and Leslie's birthstones.
I have always been able to keep the fine gemstone names going for Opal's babies.
Diamond has some peculiar markings such as this big gray patch on the top of her head.
Miss Clairol at such an early age?
Her father has spots in his bloodline and she got some of them!!
Ellie Mae's father was spotted and Thunder's sister so we are sure hoping for some spotted girls from her too!!
Ruby is just too darned cute and she is so sweet and quiet!!
She does have a moustache though!
I'm just saying!
My little Virginia farmgirl sure does like baby goats!!!
We had to go pick her up right after school so she could come over here and get some loving time in!!
Let me know when you get tired of baby goat pictures and I'll stop....well maybe!!
Bubba's Blue Baby Blanket, Brown Barn Boots and Blue Booties
Now say that three times really fast!!
" Bubba" is my grandson that is due in June!!
Bubba's real name is to be E. Fonville II
so we decided that instead of Little E
that he needed a southern boy's name!
He lives in Atlanta.
You can't get much more southern than Bubba, right?
I am not exactly sure how his parents will like his nickname, but we all love it up here in the sticks!!
I saw this pattern in a crochet book Friday and just knew that I could do it myself without a pattern.
A Log Cabin baby blanket!
Who thunk that one up?
I bet that lady has a son or grandson named Bubba too!!!
You know this is my favorite quilt pattern and
of course it is fitting as a pattern for
a little country bumpkins baby blanket too!!
I think the colors look good together.
This is very easy to make.
The one in the book was just a big round of strips that looked like one block.
I decided to make mine in smaller blocks.
I have almost finished the fifth block and I need 9.
I will strip the blocks with white.
I hope he likes it!!!
I am sure he will like these!
His first "Coonhuntin" boots!!
I can see him with these on the wrong feet!
That runs in the family.
His big sister, Morgan the coonhunter, had to buy these for him!
They are the cutest boots ever!
Well Morgan had a pair of itty bitty bitty black lace up ropers that were so precious too!
Morgan also had a pair of purple Barney rainboots
that she wore every minute of every day on the wrong foot
and when she did take them off.........
...whew rubber boots can make for stinky feet.
It was a battle for a long long time between her and her parents over those boots!!
hehehehe...... memories!!
They even have a tractor on the side of them.......aawwhhhh too cute!!
Now he just needs some Carhartt Bibs in a teeny weeny size!
I think if we dress him like this he will be able to pull off the name Bubba! LOL!!!
and about the blue booties......Robin (his mommy) made him the cutest pair of
blue baby booties
this weekend !
All by herself.
She didn't even have to have me decipher the pattern for her.
Now she will have to post pictures of those over at her blog.
FYI: Blogger's spellcheck doesn't recognize the name Bubba, Carhartt or coonhuntin!
Get with the times Blogger!!
My new baby is here safe at home....
and she is still sleeping....shhshhh she had a rough trip home with her new mommy.
When she is awake we will show pictures.
Actually mommy is a little overwhelmed at the time with this new baby.
Her new Baby Lock that is!!!
We had quite a time yesterday.....long trip....had to get in lots of shopping too.
Well our kind of shopping that is....
antiqueing!!
Leslie spotted these 2 stores on the way down to Richmond and we had to stop on the way back.
They were all screaming "Please Mama"..."Please Granny" ..."we will be good and not let you buy anything"...........
This looks like Robin with a baby on board!!
I caught Leslie with her hands in the cookie jar!
She was also eyeing the cool primitive cabinet.
I don't know where she gets this from!!
Need I say more......except I already have this sink and no it is not attached to a wall anywhere!
Oh Danny!!
Look at those screen doors!!!!!!
Nothing a little Comet wouldn't scrub out!
We always have to check out the toilets!
Needs to be white and in my house!
Has to be white and in my house!
Oh No they are sooooo young to be acting like this!
I need a potting table like this! I do, I really do!
I have to go back with my truck cause this wouldn't fit on the top of my car......we tried!!
I need a new washing machine!
and a new dryer!
If the electric bills go up any higher I will have to go back and get these!
They are happy that they didn't have to ride on the hood and hold on to the stove!
Don't they think they are smart. Hurrying to beat me to the goods!
Cute greeting!
Three sweet little lambs!
Aaaawwwhhh!!!
The toilet....this one is my style!
Terri I was going to buy this for you because I knew you would love it. I knew you would have this table full of good homecooking and surrounded by happy kids!!
I couldn't get it cause they wouldn't let me!
Do I have room for just one more?
Anywhere?
I need this sign to send to my new grandson's house cause he is going to be called Bubba!!!
(southern boy ya know)
