Sock Monkey Scrub Top!

This is what I have been doing today! Well not all day. I did finish my pillowcases for the pillowcase swap on Mary Janes Farm. They are on their way to Largo Fla right now. I recieved the cutest pair of embroidered pillowcases from her last week.

Any who. I love sock monkeys and I had found this fabric a couple months ago and felt it was perfect for a scrub top and I think I was right. I think it turned out really cute and I will try it out tomorrow night!

It feels really good getting some sewing and crafting time in as of lately. I have made more projects from start to finish this winter than in the past I don't know how long. I think the best part is actually having a sewing room now that really helps me to keep focused on a project and I can stop and leave it and go back and pick right back up and finish it.

My organization is going pretty well I think. Not organized yet but I'm getting there. I have cleaned out a lot of cabinets and rearranged drawers. I have new glass canisters that are filled with organic goodies that were bought in bulk and they look so pretty on my countertops.

I cleaned a lot today making up for being sick last week and still not very pert over the weekend but I made up for it today with a lot of energy. I made my scrub top and started a Grandmothers Flower Garden Quilt. The quilt was intended to be laid out in a star pattern but after one "Flower" was finished I decided that I wanted the traditional quilt but made with reds, yellows and greens, instead of the traditional pastels. Of course this is done by hand so it probably won't get very big!!!!

Robin and Morgan came over for dinner tonight and as always we had a lot of fun. Dinners at our house are always so noisy when the girls come. We can find anything to laugh at. Tonight it was of course one of those 'you really had to be there moments' ..... Morgan who is 13 and gorgeous and really becoming a beautiful young women had gotten up and walked away from the table and at the same time Robin and I looked at each other in the same breath and said.... I said "I want to look like her" and Robin said " I used to look like her" ........ we laughed uncontrolably for several minutes and nowone else knew what happened!!!! Yes we are crazy!!

I tried a new dish tonight "Pinto bean cakes" and they were really good. DH loved them, of course he hasn't met a bean he doesn't like either.

Better go to bed since I am sleepy, that is so rare for me to be sleepy at night. In about a month I should be back on day shift and I can't wait.
