It's a brand new day....

a new week, a new season. There is color in my life again. I can enjoy it too. I am feeling so much better after my little weekend of R&R. It was just what the Dr ordered for my healing. I ordered the new season and color!! So nice after such a dreary winter of white. Too much white, too much illness and gloom. I am a new person today and I am going to enjoy it to it's fullest! Leslie just told me it is to be 80 degrees on Saturday!! Now that makes me happy and I like to be happy!!! That's why this illness has hurt so bad. I don't like to have my wings clipped. I want to do what I aspire to do, when I want to do it and it's hard for me to keep still. I did keep still and recoup this weekend so I have to gradually get back into the swing of things so I can hopefully be in full running order by Saturday. Cause I've got plans.....and a list!!

Lynn over at Wood Ridge has a post today about dandelion greens and she made them look so good. I have dandelions here if I have nothing else, so I went out in the sunshine to pick me some dandelions for our supper tonight. I thought that would be a great spring addition to the meal. Would you believe not nary a dandelion in sight???? Where are they? I know they are there but they only show theirselves when I don't want to see them!! They will be waving their little fuzzy tops at me soon enough and I will be too mad to even want to eat one of them at that time. I will be after them with a fork or knife but it will be to get them out of my lawn. Delicasy or weed? You decide!!

It sure sounds like you're going to have a wonderful weekend coming up! I'm glad you're feeling up to making the most of it too!

The flowers in the window look very pretty. I like the bright spring colors too.

It would be really neat if you could make that trip from VA to TX for a plant exchange!!!!! Hee-Hee-Hee Ha-Ha-Ha!!! Hmmm, wonder how the airport would manage your plants! Anyway, I just had to share this story with you, since being a stylist you would appreciate it. Back when I first got into gardening, the lady that pretty much flung the " gardening bug" onto me, hosted a plant exchange at her home. People from everywhere were coming to it and she wanted me to participate, but I had no plants to exchange. So, we got creative, and I gave back porch haircuts for plants!! Needless to say, I came home with a van full of plants! I don't know who got the better end of the deal, but my flower garden was well on it's way!!

Kim, I think I'll just drive my truck down there to pick up my plants!!

I wonder if I advertised "will cut hair in exchange for plants" if I would get any plants??????? Good Idea!! Are you a hairdresser? Well obviously, but are you licensed??

Cool story!!!

I'm loving how you gals are bartering -- it's a fantastic way to swap talent and goods. Nothing wrong with an honest-to-God sign saying, "Will work for plants".

Becky, I've got to change your attitude on those dandelions! Didya know that if you pick just 2 cups of dandelion flowers (the yellow petals), you have enough to make a wonderful dandelion jelly? Yes!! (The recipe with a few photos is on my blog, so think about this: dandelion = food !)

Aahhaaahahahaaa Lynn, If you only knew my father you would be really careful how you said that!!!! He has the very most immaculate yard in the world! Not kidding either. He measures the grass, not kidding. He sits down in his yard and digs up dandelions by the root and burns them (his favorite pastime), he hates them.
I know he just freaks when he comes here and sees how many we have in our yard!!!!! Among other unmentionables around him!! I do not get down and dig them up. We have so many in the fields/pastures around us that it would be a never ending process. So if you can't beat em join em, right? I think I will be making dandelion jelly this year too!!
